Habit Counts That Match What You See
A focused correction to how habit completions are counted, plus a Today widget that keeps up with the time of day on its own.
- Habit Counts
The Habits tab badge now matches the cards actually on screen. The count had been testing every habit against the whole log, so logging a single habit could mark Simple and List habits complete. The app icon, the sidebar, and your daily totals all follow the corrected rule now. - Today Widget
The greeting rolls over to Good Morning and Good Afternoon on its own, instead of holding the previous evening’s text until the next time you opened the app.
August 4, 2026 — Version 2026.3.9
Habits Now Run on Your Schedule
Habits gain the same flexible scheduling that recurring tasks have always had, and the Today view gets clearer about work carried over from earlier days.
- Habit Scheduling
Habits can repeat on a schedule, just like recurring tasks. A new Frequency picker in the habit editors lets each habit run every day, on specific weekdays, or every few days. - Off Days Stay Out of the Way
On a day it is not due, a scheduled habit disappears from the list and stops counting toward completion totals on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, widgets, and badges. Streaks follow the schedule too, counting only the days a habit is due and forgiving a single missed occurrence. - Previous Instead of Overdue
Tasks from earlier days are labeled Previous rather than Overdue, and shown in quiet gray instead of red. Red is reserved for Critical priority alone. - Clearer Carried Work
Previous Days tasks sort newest first, and cards carried forward show how long they have been waiting, with a subtle label that turns orange once a task is a week old. Tasks carried from another day show a compact origin date, and ongoing tasks with due dates display their full range. - The Status Filter Truly Filters
Choosing Completed now shows just that day’s finished tasks. - Inline Task Creation on Mac
New tasks are created in the detail pane instead of a separate window, with a pinned draft row at the top of the list that becomes the saved task.
This version also brings the new Dynamic card style as the default for fresh installs, a Restore Defaults option that resets all User Preferences, and fixes for quick entry, recurrence removal, badge refresh timing, date pickers, and tasks completed ahead of schedule.

TasksDojo Comes to Your Wrist and Your Home Screen
An Apple Watch app and a family of Home Screen widgets bring your day onto every surface you glance at.
- Apple Watch App
TasksDojo now has an Apple Watch app. It opens to a Today hub with today’s task list and count rows that open Previous Days, Ongoing Tasks, Habits, and Mantras. - Complete Anything From Your Wrist
Check off tasks and subtasks, log habits, and complete mantras right from the watch, all synced through iCloud. Swipe left on a habit row to undo, or on a task row to snooze it to tomorrow. - Widgets
New Today, Habits, and Mantras widgets for the iPhone and iPad Home Screen and the Mac desktop. Log a completion with one tap on the widget, page through longer lists, and tap any row to jump straight to that task, habit, or mantra in the app. - Consistent Habit Cards
Every habit card shares one header, with the category label, streak, and completion check in the same spots, and the seven day chart sits directly beneath it. - A Clearer Today Heading
The Today date heading on iPhone, iPad, and Mac shows a small calendar icon, making it clear you can tap it to open the date picker.
This version also fixes widget taps that opened the wrong tab, Today widget rows that appeared as blank pills on the dimmed Mac desktop and tinted Home Screen, a crash during app icon badge refresh, and inline subtasks on Mac.
